She graduated from Hastings High School in 1944 and moved to Washington DC to serve in the civilian Navy Department during WWII. Janet moved back to Minnesota where she met Albert Waldbillig and they were later married on August 30, 1947 in Hastings. They made their home in St. Paul Park where they raised their 6 children and enjoyed many years together. Through the years she worked as an “Avon Lady”, day care provider, bank auditor at Park Grove Bank and also as a secretary at a variety of places including Social Security, Burlington Northern Railroad, and most recently in the School District 833 Transportation Department. She enjoyed staying active at St. Thomas where she was a member of the Parish Council, Care Minister, Eucharistic Minister and faith formation, to mention just a few. Janet had a great outlook on life and generously looked for opportunities to help others even into her final days. Her life was devoted to caring for her children and loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews deeply.
