Amy Marquardt

Amy Margaret (Panula) Marquardt, age 75 of Cottage Grove passed away peacefully on October 27, 2021.

Amy is preceded in death by parents, Arne and Kathryn Panula; parents-in-law, Emil Marquardt and Ruby Holste; her twin brother, Fr. Arne (Chips) Panula; and most recently, her beloved son, Eric.

Born in Duluth, MN on March 25, 1946, Amy began working for 3M in St. Paul shortly after graduating from Hermantown High School.  Amy was introduced to the love of her life, Ralph, while they were both working at 3M.  Amy thoroughly enjoyed sewing, counted cross stitch, crafts, reading all the latest books, serving coffee at the local senior citizen center, volunteer work with the American Red Cross and travel.  She was very involved in the vintage car hobby with Ralph and even had her own 1961 Ford Falcon.  She was extremely proud of her children, grandchildren, and their accomplishments.  Her beautiful blue eyes would light up when she spoke of them.

Amy is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Ralph; her daughter, Kara (Erik) Bricker; daughter-in-law, Becky; grandchildren, Isaiah, Dominic and Chase; sisters Patrice (John) King, Lynne (Wynne) May; sister-in-law, Diane (Len) Beilke; brother-in-law, Len (Patricia) Marquardt; 13 nieces and nephews; her special cat, Charlie; and many lifelong friends.  Her loved ones will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.  She will be deeply missed.

Memorials preferred to the American Red Cross or the Minnesota Stroke Foundation.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 11am at Kok Funeral Home (7676 80th Street South Cottage Grove, MN) with visitation beginning at 10am.
