Bernadette Lucille “Bernie” Schueller, age 95 of Cottage Grove, passed away July 11, 2020.

Bernadette was born November 11, 1924 in Perham, Minnesota to Clemens Ignatias and Anna Cecelia (Schornack) Boedigheimer.  She grew up in Perham where she graduated from high school in 1942.  Bernie was married to John Phillip Schueller on October 8, 1943 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Perham.  Following WWII, they moved to Detroit Lakes where they raised their three sons.  They were active members of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and helped create the “Schueller Family Library” at the church.  She enjoyed crocheting and was a talented and gifted quilter.  Bernie enjoyed collecting antiques, going to garage sales, was a wonderful cook, and in her younger years, loved to dance.  For over 20 years, they spent the winter months in Alamo, Texas and made many friends through the years.

Bernie is survived by her sons Ronald (Diane) Schueller, David (Marybeth) Schueller; grandchildren Joseph (Jennifer) Schueller, Jessica (Kevin) Schmitt, Daniel Schueller, Katherine (Jeffrey) Doxsie, Andrew and Timothy (Kristina) Gibson; great-grandchildren Karleigh, Landon and Avery Schueller, Maddox and Lily Schmitt, Astin Gibson and Madeline Doxsie; daughter-in-law Luci Schueller; sister-in-law Betty Boedigheimer as well as many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband John Phillip; parents; son Jerome K.; siblings Mildred, Alex, Pauline and Arthur.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am, Thursday, July 16, 2020 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 920 Holley Avenue, St. Paul Park with visitation one hour prior.  Masks will be REQUIRED to attend the service.  Graveside service will be open to the public at 1:00 pm, Friday, July 17, 2020 at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Detroit Lakes.

While maintaining social distancing guidelines, we are now able to accommodate gatherings while abiding to a 50% capacity at the facility. The use of face masks by attendees at the church is REQUIRED, and we will continue taking the necessary steps to keep your families safe.
