Emily Royce

Emily Ann Royce (nee Soby), age 55, of Cottage Grove, MN. Born August 31, 1962 passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 4, 2018 at 8:08 PM.

Memorial Service 11 AM, with visitation beginning at 9 AM, Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S., Cottage Grove, MN, 55016. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Maplewood, MN.

Emily Ann Royce was born August 31, 1962 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Arthur and Louise Soby.  She attended St. Stanislaus for Elementary School and graduated from Harding High School in 1979.  Emily drove school bus for a few years where she loved to be with the kids and they truly adored her.  She met the love of her life, Thomas Royce and they were married on May 7, 1988.

In 1989, Rebecca was born and Emily loved being involved in a variety of her band activities, going horseback riding and trips to Valley Fair together.  Emily went on for further schooling at Inver Grove Community College where she received her degree as an administrative assistant.  She served as a secretary at Brown Tank in Minneapolis, the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, and then returned to drive school bus for a few years.

Emily loved bowling, playing cards and cribbage.  She also enjoyed going skiing whether it was downhill, cross country or water skiing.  One of her favorite destinations was making frequent trips to the North Shore with her family.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Royce; and father, Arthur Soby. She is survived by her loving daughter, Rebecca (Brett) Johnson; two grandsons, Braeden and Oliver; mother, Louise Soby; sister, Ronica Weigand Carlstrom; brothers, Richard (Carole), Duke, and Tim (LaWanna); and many nieces and nephews.
