Gerald G. Mueller, age 96, of Cottage Grove, passed away on December 16, 2020 with his eyes toward his future in heaven.

Preceded in death by his wife, E. Elaine Mueller, parents: Gustav and Martha Mueller; brothers: Stanley Mueller, Elroy Mueller, and sisters, Fern Wosmek, and Naomi Sieh.

Survived by his children, Richard (Linda), Ronald (Lisa), Thomas (Marilyn), Diane (Robert Nelson), William (Mary), and Julie (Paul) Hennen; brother, Theo Mueller; 21 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Gerry was born on September 27, 1924 in Appleton, MN.  He graduated from Buffalo Lake H.S. and joined the Seabees where he served in Okinawa during World War 2.  He graduated from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln with a degree in chemical engineering.  Gerald married the love of his life, E. Elaine Carlson, his wife of 69 years.   For his whole career, he was employed at 3M company working his way up to Executive Vice President of Engineering when he retired in 1989.  Gerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, playing cards especially bridge, had a passion for helping small businesses get started and enjoyed being with family.  He was known for his integrity, generosity, humility, intelligence, and deep faith and love for God and family.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Private burial at Fort Snelling Cemetery on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 with live streaming available at 2 PM on www.kokfuneral.com
