Larry was born April 13, 1943 in San Francisco, Ca. to Frank and Loretta Vitek. He grew up in Newport, MN. In 1963 he married the love of his life Joyce. They moved to Inver Grove Heights to raise their 3 kids.


Larry was friendly, outgoing and had a great sense of humor, he could talk to anyone. He worked in the transportation business for over 50 years, and was still working up until he got sick. He loved baseball and enjoyed watching his grandkids play ball. He also loved going to Canterbury to bet on the horses or play poker.


Larry passed peacefully on February 9, 2021. He is survived by his wife Joyce, his children Doug (Bao) Vitek, Diane Larson, Mark Vitek. His grandchildren Allen, Heather, Aaron, Corey, Amber, Bryanna, Cecily, Tabitha, Jacob, Dalton, Sabrina and 6 great grandchildren, brother Ronald (Marlene) Vitek and 2 nieces and a nephew.


The family would like to thank to the staff at St. Josephs for their care given at great risk to themselves and compassion.


There will be no services as the family would never want to put anyone at risk to suffer the loss we have.

While maintaining social distancing guidelines, we are now able to accommodate gatherings while abiding to a 50% capacity at the facility. The use of face masks by attendees is required at indoor events, and we will continue taking the necessary steps to keep your families safe. Expressions of sympathy during this time can be left on the condolences page available on the obituary portion on our website.
