Neysa Housley, age 85 of St. Paul, passed away July 29, 2021 at Vista Prairie at River Heights in South St. Paul.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am, Thursday, August 12, 2021 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1315 12th Avenue NW, Rochester, Minnesota with visitation one hour prior.  Interment Calvary Cemetery, Rochester.  In lieu of flowers memorial may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or your local Humane Society.

Neysa Elizabeth Housley was born March 5, 1936 in Rochester to Morton and Dorothy Emmons.  She grew up in Rochester and graduated from Lourdes High School in 1954.  She followed her calling into the Franciscan Order of Sisters and was stationed at the Assisi Heights facility in Rochester.  During that time she completed 3 masters degrees in the areas of education, theology and philosophy.  Neysa loved children and loved teaching a variety of grades throughout her career.  She also served as a chaplain at various care centers in the Twin Cities area for several years.  She concluded her service to the church in 1988.

Neysa enjoyed music, art, going to garage sales and spending time with her family and friends.  On July 26, 2003, Neysa was married to LeRoy Housley in South St. Paul at St. John Vianney Catholic Church.  They lived in St. Paul and enjoyed going on trips and participating in LeRoy’s family’s involvement in hockey.

Neysa is survived by her four siblings David (Rosie) Emmons, Jim Emmons and Kay (Michael) Aaby and Judy Emmons as well as several nieces, nephews and grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband LeRoy; parents Morton and Dorothy; step-mother Hazel; siblings Clarence and Alice.
