Sheryl M. Menard, age 82 of Cottage Grove, died peacefully on January 8, 2021 at Our Lady of Peace in St. Paul.
Sheryl was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on May 10, 1938 to Arthur and Ethel Strommen. She grew up in St. Paul with her brothers Eugene and Gerald and attended St. Joseph’s Academy. She married Ronald Menard in 1960 and they made their home in Cottage Grove where they raised their children. Sheryl worked for School District 833 as an administrative assistant for many years. Sheryl loved to stay active by doing her regular workouts at Curves followed by coffee time with friends. She enjoyed shopping and was known to be a fond admirer of her shoe collection. Sheryl also enjoyed puzzle books and was an avid listener of Elvis’ music.
She is survived by her beloved children Lugene (Dan) Werner, Renee (Terry) Kelly, Steven (Mary), Paul (Jan); 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Ronald; grandson Steven W. Werner; parents Arthur and Ethel Strommen and brothers Eugene and Gerald.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am, Thursday, January 14, 2021 at The Church of St. Rita, 8694 80th Street S., Cottage Grove with visitation prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th Street S., Cottage Grove. Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Midwest Special Services in Oakdale. Masks will be REQUIRED at all events.
