Walt Ehli, age 91, a 25 year resident of Mesa, AZ and former long-time resident of Saint Paul Park, MN, passed away September 10, 2021.
Preceded in death by infant daughter Theresa Lynn (1962), parents Christ and Mary Ehli, 8 sisters, 1 brother, former wife, Carol Purington Ehli, his dear friend of 65 years, Ron Becker as well as other relatives and friends.
Walt was a Saint Paul Park City Councilman for 17 non-consecutive terms in the 60’s & 70’s, a past member of the Lions and owned and operated the Park Café for a number of years. His favorite pastime for many years was playing cards at the casino.
Walt is survived by his wife of 28 years, Barbara Persing-Ehli, his children, Steve (Dawn), Cary NC, Allen (Mark) West St. Paul MN, Kris (Al) Walker, Mesa AZ, Ann (Ellen) Ehli, Mesa AZ, Darrin (Helena), Cottage Grove and step daughter, Katie (Jason) Smith, Rice Lake, WI. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, his sister, Delores “Dee” (Gordy) Mevissen-Rootes, Coon Rapids, dear friend, Theresa Becker, Cottage Grove and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, Barb’s family and many friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 3rd, 11:00 a.m - 1:00 p.m. with Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. at Kok Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 7676 80th St. S. Cottage Grove, MN 55016. Please join us for a luncheon and fellowship following the Memorial Service. Lunch at 2:15 p.m. at the American Legion Post 98, 328 Broadway Ave., Saint Paul Park.
We will bury our beloved husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, brother & friend at Fort Snelling National Cemetery next summer when we gather for a family picnic. Rest in Peace! We all love you and will miss you very much!
